Presentation

The world is becoming global and the world’s citizens are sharing common interests and concerns. With Africa as one of the largest and most populated continent in the world it goes without saying that the continent is a global citizen. As part of IE Business School’s core value of promoting a global focus, entrepreneurial spirit and a humanistic approach,  IE Africa Club intends to host an event themed, “Empresas en Africa: Challenges and Opportunities” on the 29th of April 2011.

The objective of the event will be to promote relations between IE, Spain and Africa through a one day speaker series which will amongst others include ambassadors of various African countries based in Madrid. IE Africa Club envisages fostering communication, relationships and networks among its IE African students, alumni members and Africa community in Spain. The Club also aims to serve as a vehicle for relevant and factual information to students and professionals who have interest in Africa.

The event will have specific focus on African entrepreneurship with speakers including top–performing entrepreneurs in Africa, successful women entrepreneurs, and social entrepreneurs. There will also be African cultural entertainment in the programme.

The event will be the first of its kind at IE and aims to be the first of many subsequent African events to come.
